Scranton Children’s Photographer – Hopscotch Children’s Boutique!
October 5th

Once in a while something so cool comes around that you have to tell everyone about it.

My friend Jill has taken the plunge and is opening Hopscotch A Swanky Little Shoppe!

Yep, right in Jessup Pennsylvanina you can get your kids great clothes from exclusive lines like Persnickety, and Sooki Baby.

So head on over this Saturday, October 6, from 10am to 8pm. The store is located at 210 Church Street, Jessup PA 18434. You can call them at 570.382.3989

During the day you’ll have the chance to catch children’s author Kearyn Burke Wynn reading her stories and you’ll be able to pick up her latest book, you can be amazed at the magic and juggling of Mike Simon, there will be face painting, and gift certificate raffles for the boutique.

Also, there will be a super cool contest: Are your kids are cute? Want to see them in lights? Five lucky winners will experience what it’s like to be a model for day with photographer Steve Lewis and be featured on the walls of Hopscotch Children’s Boutique!

So head on over and tell ’em Steve sent ya! Here’s a few of the images we took recently, and you can see them hanging up at Hopscotch this weekend!

Steve Lewis Photography is the culmination of one man’s journey of self discovery. Do you remember what you wanted to be when you grew up? Me, I wanted to be a garbage-man, an archaeologist, (damn you Indiana Jones!) an actor, and a cowboy. But as I got older I realized smelly garbage makes me gag, boulders weren’t going to chase me out of Incan temples, I was a mediocre actor in a sea of good ones, and cowboys either get shot by bad guys or trampled by cattle. Since none of those things were going to work out for me, I decided one day not too long ago that photography seemed pretty cool. And then I studied. And I practiced. And practiced. And practiced. And practiced some more.

Then once I figured out what my destiny was, I decided to open for business in January of 2012. Today I specialize in fine art wedding and portrait photography. When I’m in wedding photography mode I’m telling love stories. From the first shot of the engagement session to the final shot at the reception I’m telling the story of YOUR love for each other.

When I’m in portrait photography mode, I’m attempting to capture a slice of your life in un-staged, natural settings as the events are occurring. Portrait photography should be about capturing the relationships and the personalities of my clients as I see it. As a photographer I am a casual observer of life, documenting little snippets of people’s lives. We need to have more than good lighting and smooth skin to make a good portrait. We need to capture YOU. Or your baby. Or your family. You get the idea.

When I’m not with my clients, you will find me running around after my three awesome children, keeping myself caffeinated, and generally loving life!

I like coffee, buttercream icing, sushi, and coffee.

I dislike smelly feet, math, scales, and Ewoks.

Scranton/WIlkes-Barre Children's Photographer

Hello people. Isn’t this a handsome fellow up there ^? Just foolin’ around with a camera and my son the other day. And since a blog post is always better with a picture, I thought I’d put him up for you.

I thought I’d write a little bit about myself and my business today.

Duane + Jessie – Scranton Wedding Photography
January 13th

We first met Duane and Jessie on the blog when I posted their engagement photos.

I always like it when two genuinely nice people get married.

It gives me hope in the institution.

The other day I noticed a comment was left here which I quickly added to the blog:

Steve Lewis Photography = LOVE! Steve did our engagement session and wedding (9/10/11) and I must say, I’m absolutely in love with my pictures! He truly captured the feelings between my husband and I. To be honest with you, when I realized I was going to have to be photographed for these events, I was scared out of my mind! I’m not a person that likes her picture taken but Steve made me feel completely at ease! At the wedding, he captured every moment and detail, including things I didn’t even have time to notice during that busy day! When I look at my pictures, I relive the feelings and excitement and am truly blessed to have had an awesome photographer that was able to do that for me! I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer that can capture the essence of your event and can’t wait to work with him again in the future for our next special occasion! I loved being a Steve Lewis Bride;)Jessie S, Dupont

Wow. I couldn’t wish for a nicer compliment from one of my brides. I am humbled, inspired to do even better, and I want to thank you for your terribly kind words.
I wish you two nothing but happiness!

Enjoy the photographs.
