Cassie + Matt – Scranton Wedding Photographer
November 30th

Last year one of my dear friends announced that she was getting married. So I decided that I would give her the gift of a free engagement session that she could use for whatever she wanted. So we ventured out into the streets of Scranton, the U specifically, and made some pictures. Here is the video I made of her images. Let me know what you think!

Only Used Underwater Once! Scranton Photographer
November 28th

Wow.

That’s all I have to say.

It seems that a Canon EOS 1000D was dropped into the Pacific Ocean in 2010.

The photos are still on the Sandisk Extreme III card. Awesome story.

Actual story: found off the end of a wharf in Deep Bay, BC while I was diving on a job for the harbour. I removed the SD card, cleaned it up, stuck it in a card reader and after being underwater in a corroding camera since August 2010 – it works! Approximately 50 pictures on the card from a family vacation. If you know a fire fighter from British Columbia whose team won the Pacific Regional Firefit competition, has a lovely wife and (now) 2 year old daughter – let me know. I would love to get them their vacation photos 🙂

Go visit Markus Thompson’s Google+ for the whole story.

I guess now you all know what brand of CF cards to get!

A New Blogsite! Scranton Wedding Photographer
November 25th

When I started this business in 2009 I knew that I needed one thing in order to do well – have a web presence. Well, I have learned a lot more about web presence since then – I have learned the evils of flash websites, that blogs are king, and a mix of the two – a static website and blog is the way to go.

Until just recently I had a blog located at www.stevelewisphotography.blogspot.com. I’ve had that since 2009. And I had a flash website at www.stevelewisphotos.com. The flash site was cool, but it never came up in search results. I had that for a year. A year wasted because no one went to that site because they couldn’t find it. And if they did find it, chances are they were on a mobile device that didn’t read flash. Ugh.

So now I have a blogsite, and I am hoping to get it to the top of the search results quickly so that people who don’t know about me can find me.

I am very excited to have this new site!  There are lots of new features that make this site head and tails above anything I’ve had before. For instance, under the info tab,  you can get info about whatever you need weddings, seniors, or children, with the gallery of images right there. No clicking around trying to find the galleries that go with the info you need! Go try it! Sweet, huh?

Thanks so much for stopping by, and be sure to check back, I will have new posts a few times a week.

And since blog posts are always much better with a photo, here is one from the recent wedding of Jessie and Duane. Enjoy!
