Duane + Jessie – Scranton Wedding Photography
January 13th

We first met Duane and Jessie on the blog when I posted their engagement photos.

I always like it when two genuinely nice people get married.

It gives me hope in the institution.

The other day I noticed a comment was left here which I quickly added to the blog:

Steve Lewis Photography = LOVE! Steve did our engagement session and wedding (9/10/11) and I must say, I’m absolutely in love with my pictures! He truly captured the feelings between my husband and I. To be honest with you, when I realized I was going to have to be photographed for these events, I was scared out of my mind! I’m not a person that likes her picture taken but Steve made me feel completely at ease! At the wedding, he captured every moment and detail, including things I didn’t even have time to notice during that busy day! When I look at my pictures, I relive the feelings and excitement and am truly blessed to have had an awesome photographer that was able to do that for me! I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer that can capture the essence of your event and can’t wait to work with him again in the future for our next special occasion! I loved being a Steve Lewis Bride;)Jessie S, Dupont

Wow. I couldn’t wish for a nicer compliment from one of my brides. I am humbled, inspired to do even better, and I want to thank you for your terribly kind words.
I wish you two nothing but happiness!

Enjoy the photographs.

Happy Birthday Boy! – Scranton Photographer
January 11th

Two years ago today we arrived at the hospital at 6am. We hadn’t really slept, the excitement was almost too much, knowing that you would soon be here.

Two years ago today we waited and waited for your arrival. The doctor kept saying “soon”. It seemed like forever, but it really wasn’t.

Two years ago today they said something was wrong. They rushed to deliver you and my heart sank as the doctor looked around at the lack of staff and yelled out “help!”

Two years ago today they tried to make you breathe, for a few helpless moments we watched them work on you.

And finally we heard a tiny little cry.

Thank God!

Now today as I look at you, I marvel at everything you do.

Except spitting your food at me. That’s not too marvelous. But everything else…love it!

Your constant smile, your big bright eyes that look out at the world with wonderment, your index finger that boops me on the nose. I love it all.

Two years ago today I couldn’t wait to see you, and today I can’t wait to see what you’ll do next.

I love you, buddy.

Happy birthday, Little Man!

O Christmas Tree! – Scranton Wedding Photographer
December 22nd

It is a well known fact that I love Christmas. Always have, always will. So I thought that it would be nice to give you all a glimpse at a little bit of our Christmas celebration. I bring you details of our tree. Keep in mind that some of these ornaments, like the Mrs. Claus are older than me. So there are a lot of Christmas memories, old and new tied into our tree, as I’m sure there are in yours. Enjoy. And Merry Christmas!

Jessie + Duane Engagement! – Scranton Wedding Photography
December 16th

I met Duane and Jessie after I shot some engagement photos for my friends Matt and Cassie. The two of them booking me to do their wedding was a direct result of those photos. So thanks to Matt and Cassie! Lol!

Here’s the thing I learned about Duane and Jessie.

They absolutely delight in each others presence. Unabashedly.

They are an awesome couple, super cool to be around, and their Scranton wedding at Saint Peters and Montdale Country Club which I photographed yielded all of the super coolness that I expected from these two! Their wedding shots will be posted here soon.

So now…

…I present to you some of their fancy dandy engagement photos!

Photo Of The Year! – Scranton Photographer
December 14th

Throughout the years the photographers working at National Geographic have consistently brought us incredible images of faraway places and people, showing us amazing details of life around the globe. Every year Nat Geo has a photo contest, and this year the winners will be announced tomorrow, December 15. Here are a few of the finalist photos that stood out to me, and I must admit, I am irritated that I didn’t take any of them. Enjoy!

This last one is taken after the floooding in Pakistan in 2010. Millions of spiders climbed up into the trees to escape the rising flood waters. Pretty much freaked me out too.
